SCHOOL'S IN SESSION Everyone's back in school, even me... that would explain what took so long to get the September update done. But I won't use that as an excuse, I'm just glad it's here. As I further my studies, I think about the new textbooks that the students are reading, the new topics, the new discussions, the new classmates. I know the Class of 2010 is looking forward to getting out of high school and going to college or entering the workforce. I felt the same way ten years ago... except some of us in the Class of 2000 didn't know whether or not the world would end or what exactly would happen when Y2K hit. I also was wondering how I was going to bring the book that would become Never Too Much - The Remix to print after publishing it as an e-book online (I would figure out how to do that my first year at A&T). This new beginning at a new school brings about determination to complete my graduate program and get that master's degree. I'm studying in a field I thoroughly enjoy and practice in (entrepreneurship) and I'm in one of the best programs in the country. This is a new challenge because the program is fast paced so I can't slack and wait until the last minute to do nothing. Even when I'm on my "breaks" I'm studying and working on projects. The determination I have to get my master's is the same determination you are going to have to graduate high school or move on to the next level. It is the same determination you are going to need in order to win the various scholarships that educational institutes, civic, fraternities and sororities, church affiliated and other organizations will be giving out. I will post the requirements to win our 3rd Annual WORTH FIGHTING 4 BOOK STIPEND Award next month. We will have new questions so I highly recommend getting the book if you don't have it already. So my challenge for you will be to read for enjoyment. It's okay to escape because you never know what you are going to find and how you may use the knowledge you get in a literary book later on. I chose to interview Tracy Brown and K'wan because when I used to teach, I used to always see teens with these author's books in their hands. I enjoy reading the books myself as they allow me to be entertained and learn something new as well. Stay smart, stay focused but most importantly, stay in school. As my brothers say: "Go to High School, Go to College" In Unity,
