OurTeenVoices.com was founded with the need to promote age appropriate literature for today’s teens.

Many parents, teachers and other “concerned adults” send publishers and authors numerous emails as well as write defaming articles complaining that authors in certain genres are flooding the market with literature that is “vulgar” and “not artistic.” With the numerous complaints about the state of African American literature and the publishing industry as a whole, OurTeenVoices.com is a response from not only a major writer/publisher of street/urban/hip-hop fiction, but a call to action to promote one of the most underserved markets in the publishing industry.

OurTeenVoices.com focuses on interviewing upcoming and prominent African American authors in the market as well as tackle issues facing teens in middle school and high school. We offer scholarships for high school graduates as well as internships for college students looking to gain experience in the publishing and public relations/media industries.

OurTeenVoices.com is the brainchild of Jarold Imes, a young, upcoming young adult author as well as the author of street and Christian fiction titles. OurTeenVoices.com operates as a service unit of Abednego’s Free, LLC, a contemporary and inspirational publisher.

About the Creator:

Jarold Imes is the author and creator of the Hold On Be Strong Teen Series, which features hard hitting topics like gangs, drugs, sexuality, teenage fatherhood and suicide.

Jarold has been publishing books since he was nineteen and has written for several markets. He enjoys writing Christian fiction and books about young African American males the best.

He is also the owner of Abednego’s Free, LLC, the parent company of OurTeenVoices.com. He lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with his family.
